The design for Yen So Bus Station project

Located around five kilometres from Giap Bat Bus Station, the new terminal aims to ease congestion and redistribute interprovincial traffic. It is being built on nearly 28,000 square metres of land in Yen So Ward, along Ring Road 3. The project is funded by Thanh Tri Bus Station Joint Stock Company.

The terminal will include three storeys and an underground parking garage. At its centre will be a circular main building covering 2,000 square metres. The ground floor will contain ticket counters and showrooms, while the second floor will house fast-food outlets.

In its initial phase, the terminal is expected to operate around 400 daily trips before scaling up to its full designed capacity of 800 to 1,000.

Upon completion in the second quarter of 2026, Yen So will become one of Vietnam’s most modern bus stations and Hanoi’s seventh major terminal.

Once operational, the terminal will take on many interprovincial routes currently served by Giap Bat, especially those heading to the southern provinces.

In the long term, when Ring Road 4 and Hanoi’s future southern terminal are completed, Yen So will be converted into a public transport hub. The transition is part of the capital’s transport development strategy, which aims to gradually relocate bus terminals out of the city centre to help ease traffic congestion.
