Standing vice chairman Le Anh Quan directed operators to maintain full safety standards for ferry services and ensure sufficient capacity to meet demand. Port authorities have been instructed to strictly enforce safety checks for vessels entering and leaving ports.

Transport operators have been asked to deploy adequate vessels, while police will coordinate traffic management at ferry terminals and the cable car station during peak periods to prevent congestion and ensure public safety.

The department of culture, sports and tourism will inspect accommodation facilities in Cat Hai, including hotels, guesthouses and overnight boats, to ensure compliance with regulations on safety, fire prevention, environmental hygiene and food safety.

Local authorities have also been tasked with maintaining transport infrastructure, improving parking facilities and enhancing urban cleanliness, including waste collection and public services, to improve the visitor experience.

In the first three months of the year, Cat Ba received an estimated 552,175 visitors, up 12.4 per cent year on year. Ferry operators deployed seven vessels, completing 4,668 trips and transporting more than 234,000 foot passengers, along with tens of thousands of vehicles.

Authorities said ferry operations have remained safe and smooth, with no major congestion reported at terminals.
