Quang An Flower Market in Tay Ho District has begun to see the arrival of branch flowers like plum and peach blossoms, capturing the attention of passers-by.

Hung, a Quang An Flower Market trader, mentioned that plum blossoms symbolise the beauty of the Northwestern mountains. Despite being branch flowers, with proper care, the buds will bloom quickly. Plum flowers can be kept for 1 to 2 months.

The plum blossom season has just started. Due to the impact of recent storms and floods, prices are higher than last year. Each bundle consists of 5-6 branches and are being sold for VND150,000 (USD 5.92).

Peach branches from the Northwestern region have also been found on Hanoi streets.

According to Hung, to make the plum and peach blossoms bloom beautifully and last longer, it’s essential not only to use warm water, change the water regularly, and mist the branches daily to encourage faster blooming but also to split the tips of the branches into two or four parts. This helps them absorb water better.

Hung added that the plum and peach flowers will start to bloom in the first week, then fall off and bloom again.
This year, Northwestern plum and peach branches would be in high demand, as Typhoon Yagi seriously damaged peach gardens in Nhat Tan Village in Hanoi.
