Danang sunflower field draws crowds of visitors

A 1.3-hectare sunflower field beneath An Binh Bridge in Vu Gia Commune has become a social media hotspot, drawing hundreds of visitors daily since opening.

Groups of young people, families and photographers have been flocking to the bright yellow field in the early mornings and late afternoons to take photos. Many said they learned about the site through social media.

“I was surprised by how vast and beautiful the field is. The ticket price is reasonable and we got great photos,” said Le Anh Vi, 22, who visited with friends.

The site features decorative backdrops for photography and offers free parking, refreshments, restrooms and costume rental services.

Local authorities said the project, initiated by the Vu Gia People’s Committee, aims to create a tourism product while generating seasonal jobs and additional income for residents.

According to Le Phan Minh, chairman of the commune, the model follows a multi-value agricultural approach. After the blooming season, sunflower stems and leaves are processed into livestock feed, while the seeds can be sold or pressed for oil, adding further economic value.

“This model delivers dual benefits, experiential tourism and value-added agricultural products, moving towards a more multifunctional and sustainable farming approach,” he said.
