The erosion is around 1.5 kilometres long and runs through Phu Lam Village in the Nghia Hanh District.

Vo Thi Chinh, a resident from Phu Lam Village, said that her family spent VND300 million fortifying the eroded section running through her property. However, she expected that local authorities would build a dyke to ensure safety in the long run.
Pham Thi Bich Hoa, chairwoman of Hanh Thien Commune, admitted that the severe erosion along Ve River has become a threatening problem. She said that the district would report the problem to the province for solutions. The district has also planned to relocate at-risk households during the rainy season.
