The beach stretching across Lien Chieu and Thanh Khe districts is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to relax and swim. However, there are just some toilets along it.
A public toilet on Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach has been closed.
Particularly, recently, the majority of toilets on the beach have been closed for unknown reasons, causing people frustrated.
Visitors come to the beach but struggle to find a functioning toilet, leading some to relieve themselves outside.
Nguyen Van Son from Lien Chieu District said that every afternoon he runs on the beach, but it is extremely inconvenient for him to find a usable public toilet.
Tran Dai Nghia, deputy head of the Son Tra Peninsula Management Board, said that during the construction of several power line projects on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, local authorities had to temporarily close and dismantle some toilets.
Five new toilets have been built to replace the old ones, but they have not yet been handed over to the Son Tra Peninsula Management Board for use due to some procedural issues.
"We have urged the power company to quickly complete the procedures to put the toilets into use," Nghia added.
