The southern central coastal province of Khanh Hoa’s Department of Construction has reported that 60, mainly beachfront buildings in the tourist city of Nha Trang illegally added more floors.

Many high-rise buildings have been built along Tran Phu Street, one of the busiest parts of the city for business and tourism services.

The Lucky Sun Hotel has been found to have illegally added five more storeys compared to their approved design.

The construction department has asked the investor to pay a fine and remove the illegal construction.

The investor of the Novotel Hotel had also illegally added two more floors. Meanwhile, the Muong Thanh Luxury Nha Trang Hotel investor also violated the regulations by building 10 apartments on the 46th floor without permission.

The Muong Thanh Vien Trieu building project investor had also illegally added four more apartments on the 41st floor.

The Vinh Kim Cuong Resort owner built a cafe, a swimming pool, and spa, gym and fitness facilities on the top floor, which were not mentioned in their design planning approved by local authorities.

According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Construction Department, most of the investors had paid the fines for their violations but none had yet removed the illegal constructions.

The provincial people's council has urged the department to take measures to deal with the problems.
