At the launching ceremony Bui Quang Huy, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), emphasised that the campaign will be renewed this year, targeting voluntary activities in remote, mountainous, border, and island areas.
Every young volunteer must be a digital transformation pioneer by applying digital technology in voluntary activities, Huy said, adding that each project and voluntary work must bear the mark of digital transformation.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highlighted meaningful deeds the youth has done in illiteracy eradication, hunger, and poverty alleviation projects. She also singled out the youth for their extraordinary efforts in protecting the environment and taking care of children, policy beneficiary families, people who have rendered notable services to the community, and poor households.
In order to implement the campaign effectively, Vice President Xuan suggested that youth unions at all levels implement the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on youth work, especially the important instructions of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union
This summer volunteer drive is scheduled to take place from June 1 to August 31.
