Northern region faces light cold spell, heavy rain
A light cold spell bringing heavy rain is forecasted to hit Vietnam's northern region from Saturday evening.
A light cold spell bringing heavy rain is forecasted to hit Vietnam's northern region from September 21.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cold front will arrive in the northeastern localities on Saturday evening then spread to the northwestern area on Sunday morning.
On September 22 - 23, the north and northern central regions will see temperatures falling to between 20 - 23 degrees Celsius, and to below 19 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.
There will be heavy rain from Saturday evening until Sunday with average rainfall of between 30-70mm, and over 100mm in some places.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions will also have rainy weather today with average rainfall ranging between10-30mm. Thunderstorms and strong winds may occur during the rain.
