Some canals and reservoirs in the central city of Danang have seen massive fish deaths, causing severe pollution.

According to the Danang Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company, dead fish were reported in Da Co Canal, Hoa Phu Reservoir, and some sections of Phu Loc Canal.

On Monday, the company mobilised 50 workers to collect the dead fish in the canals and reservoir.

On Phu Loc Canal, most of the dead fish are tilapia.

The dead fish will be brought to Khanh Son's dumping ground for burial. The workers will then use chemicals to clean the canals.

The company will co-operate with concerned agencies to investigate the cause of the dead fish.

This is the second time over the past three months that such a massive fish die-off has occurred in Danang's drainage canals.
