Hoang Su Phi District is located in the west of Ha Giang Province, around some 100 kilometres from Ha Giang City.

Hoang Su Phi’s terraced fields, which were recognised as a national heritage on 16th September 2012, have become an attractive tourist spot.

The fields stretch across 24 communes and towns in Ha Giang, covering a total area of 9,000 hectares.

Hoang Su Phi is home to 12 ethnic groups with the Nung, Dao and H’mong accounting for the majority.

Local people still harvest rice manually.
