Nghe An households evacuated and isolated by floods

Some areas in the central province of Nghe An have been isolated by floods, so hundreds of local households have been excavated.

The information was given by Nguyen Van Hai, chairman of Tuong Duong District People’s Committee. 

  

A road in Tam Quang Commune is severely inundated

According to Hai, the floods have been caused by the water discharge from several hydropower plants including at Ban Ve and Khe Bo.

Hoa Binh Town in Tuong Duong District has been seriously flooded and up to 200 local households have been excavated. Meanwhile, some houses have been swept away.

Vi Dinh Phuc, chairman of Luong Minh Commune People’s Committee, said that most of the roads leading to the area had been inundated by the water discharge from Ban Ve Hydropower Plant. Lots of local households have been left under water.

According to Vi Tan Hoi, vice chairman of Tuong Duong District People’s Committee, rescue forces have been actively supporting people in Thach Giam, Tam Quang, Yen Na, Xa Luong parts of Hoa Binh town which are facing serious flooding.
