Hanoi restaurant fined for operating out of a bus

"We came to check the restaurant late Thursday and the owner said that he had taken all the seats of the bus out for repair and only used it as a temporary place to serve customers," Du said. "But that's illegal and we ordered him to immediately move the vehicle from the street."
Earlier, the restaurant attracted many customers and the owner said he believed he was operating legally as parking is allowed on the street. However, some local people complained that it was affecting traffic as staff had to cross the road to serve customers.
After being banned from serving customers
on the pavements recently, owner of a Bun cha (noodle with grilled
pork) on Su Van Hanh Street in Hoan Kiem District has decided to expand
his small restaurant to an old 29-seated bus which is placed nearby.
