On August 13, the HCM City Green Tree and Park Company checked trees at Tao Dan Park in the District, where a branch from a tree fell from 25 metres, leaving two people dead and three others injured on August 9.

The firm mobilised nearly 20 workers and a 40-metre vehicle to evaluate the tree's status and use specialised equipment to trim branches at potential risk.
Le Cong Phuong, director of the HCM City Green Tree and Park Company, said the company has set up a team of engineers and specialists to carry out regular tree evaluations.
Drones have been suggested to assist in detecting damaged branches at the top of trees and in areas that are difficult for machines and people to access.
Phuong added that after finishing the work at Tao Dan Park, the company would proceed with other parks, including Gia Dinh and Park 30/4, as well as other streets.
