A bridge linking Haiphong City and the northern province of Quang Ninh is scheduled to be open in early May.

Work on Ben Rung Bridge has been quickened. The project with a total investment capital of VND1.94 trillion (USD77.6 million) links Thuy Nguyen District in Haiphong with Quang Yen Town in Quang Ninh.

To date, around 96 percent of the project has been completed. The project spans 1,865 metres with six lanes across the Da Bach River.

Roughly 300 workers have been mobilised to complete the project’s remaining work, including the approach road on both sides of the bridge, median strip and road shoulders.

Nguyen Duc Tho, vice chairman of the Haiphong People’s Committee wanted to ensure the project would be opened to traffic on the 69th anniversary of Haiphong Liberation Day (May 13).

Ben Rung Bridge would help regional connectivity, meet rising travel demand, and contribute to regional socioeconomic growth.
