Trinh, 35, who was charged with causing public disorder, was set free after the trial at the HCM City People’s Court, under a two-year probation order.
The judge panel said Trinh had a good record, had been remorseful since she was arrested three months ago, and the consequences of her actions were limited.
Meanwhile, Trinh's motorbike instructor, Tran Xuan Dong, 37, who was arrested together with her three months ago for using fake seals and documents of an organisation, was sentenced to one year's imprisonment for disrupting public order and six months for fabricating seals and documents.
According to the indictment, Trinh and Dong performed dangerous acts on a large-displacement motorbike without appropriate licenses in public in Thu Duc City on October 6, 2023.
In five clips which were posted on some of her social media accounts on October 8, Trinh lay down and kneeled on the saddle, sat on one side of the motorbike and drove without any hands on the handles while riding a large displacement motorbike without protective gear.
The two were arrested on October 19, 2023. Dong told the police that he knew the vehicles’ registrations were fake, but bought them because they were cheap.
Speaking at the Friday court, Trinh said she had asked Dong to be her instructor as she planned to apply for a licence for driving heavy motorbikes.
In her final statement at the trial, Trinh said she was aware of the need to follow the law, but in "impulsive" moments, she violated the law without knowing.
"This has been a big lesson for me," she said.
