The ceremonial cannons fire a 21-gun salute at My Dinh Stadium during the National Day parade on September 2.
The programme opened with a torch relay, flag-raising and speeches by Party and State leaders, followed by a mass parade and cultural performances.

Around 40,000 people took part in 87 formations, including units from the Vietnam People’s Army, the public security force, militia groups, civilian delegations and military vehicles. The Vietnam People’s Air Force staged a fly-past with 30 aircraft, while the navy held its first-ever parade off Khanh Hoa, showcasing submarines, frigates and helicopters.
Nearly 16,000 participants marched in 43 formations, including 26 from the military and 17 from the public security force.

After passing President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, troops and armoured vehicles continued along major streets where huge crowds line to witness the event.
To serve citizens and visitors, Hanoi installed 270 LED screens across the city and arranged priority seating for veterans and the elderly along parade routes.
On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh declared independence at Ba Dinh Square, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
