According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Centre, HCM City experienced a mix of clouds and sunshine today, September 3, with scattered thunderstorms developing in the late afternoon and evening. Some areas saw moderate to heavy rainfall. Residents have been warned of the potential for lightning, strong winds, and tornadoes during the storms.
The city will continue to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, and around 7 pm on September 4, some areas are expected to experience downpours. Total rainfall is expected to be between 50 and 70mm.
Over the next 3-10 days, a tropical convergence zone will persist over the central part of Vietnam before gradually shifting northward and weakening from September 7.
The prevailing weather system is set to bring multiple thunderstorms to the southern region in the first days of September.
