The strange object found in Yen Bai Province

Locals in Tan Dong Commune, Yen Bai Province, said they heard a loud noise at around 7am on January 2 and saw the object fall from the sky. The strange object, which looks like a huge metal orb with diametre of 27cm, was found in the garden of Tran Thi Tuoi.

Also on the same day, the people in Na Giang Village, Tuyen Quang Province experienced a similar incident at 6.30am. They heard three loud noise before the strange object fell down by a stream.

"Even though my house is about 17 kilometres from where it fell, we all heard the loud noise. We found a sphere-like object with diameter of 80 to 100 cm and weighs 35 kilograms. Police and local authorities have cordoned off the site," Nguyen Thi Tuyen, a local at Na Giang Village said.

Tuyen Quang Military Command Deputy Commander Tran Van Du said, "The words on the orb look like Russian but it's unclear whether it was made overseas."

General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, said both of the objects were not made in Vietnam and the military were not involved in any activity in the area. They are still examining and identifying the objects.

These orbs do not contain any explosives and are made of aluminium alloy. Some people speculated that these might be space junks.
