Hanoi announces National Day fireworks displays

Hanoi will stage six fireworks shows, combining high-and low-altitude displays at five locations, on National Day, September 2.

City authorities have announced one fireworks display in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Headquarters and another at the Hanoi Post Office in Hoan Kiem District, featuring both high-and low-altitude effects.

The city will also hold four other fireworks shows at Coconut Island in Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung Ward, the Aquatic Sports Palace at the National Sports Complex in Tu Liem Ward, Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho Ward and Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong Ward, featuring both high-and low-altitude effects.

The high-altitude displays will use a total of 3,600 fireworks, with 600 at each site, while the low-altitude shows will include 540 racks, 90 per site. All displays will last 15 minutes, starting at 9 pm.

Hanoi police have been assigned to ensure order and traffic safety, with a focus on guiding and regulating traffic around the fireworks sites.

Hanoi has instructed the people’s committees of Hoan Kiem, Tu Liem, Tay Ho, and Hai Ba Trung wards to organise cultural and artistic performances at fireworks venues, and ensure prompt response plans for any incidents.
