The 2025 Red River Festival's opening ceremony will take place at 8 pm on November 22 at Lao Cai Cultural Park. The 115-minute event will feature performances and a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display at the provincial exhibition centre.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and simulcast by media outlets across Red River provinces and eight northwestern localities.
An exhibition of photos, documents, and artefacts will be held under the theme Red River Culture – A Convergence of Colours.
Other activities include a traditional costume and folk culture contest titled Brocade Inspirations, which will be held on November 21-22 at Kim Tan Square; a marathon on November 22-23 in the Lung Po area; and the 25th Vietnam-China International Trade Fair, which will be held on November 23-28 at Kim Thanh Exhibition Centre and feature around 600 booths.
