In late February, as online debate surfaced regarding the product's fibre content, Thuy Tien sought to formalise a marketing contract to distance herself from the company's ownership, effectively removing her status as a shareholder.
Authorities determined that Chi Em Rot sold over 135,000 boxes of Kera, generating nearly VND 18 billion (approximately USD 705,000) in revenue. Thuy Tien allegedly received nearly VND 7 billion (approximately USD 275,000) in commission.
On April 4, the Ministry of Public Security launched a criminal investigation into counterfeit goods involving Asia Life and Chi Em Rot in Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak Province.
