A man in Quang Binh Province is calling for financial help to support his children after their mother died and to cover his treatment after an accident.
A traffic accident in early 2016 broke Le Van Bien's leg and killed his wife. His broken leg has not healed and he had to borrow money for his treatment.

"I used my land certificate book as collateral for a loan and borrowed some more from relatives to raise USD4,500. Doctors said I needed multiple operations and long-term treatment," Bien said.
Bien said he only wanted to be able to work so that he could repay the debts and keep his children in schools. Bien's oldest son, born in 1995, is doing mandatory military service on Spratly Islands so all the work now rests on the shoulder of his 16-year-old brother, Le Cong Hieu.
Hieu already stopped going to school to work in the rice fields, find odd jobs and to take care of his father, his four year-old sister and one year-old brother.

Tran Thanh Chinh, an official of Son Trach Commune, said, "The local authorities and the neighbours can only help them so much. I hope Bien and his family can overcome the difficulties with helps from the community."
