Dantri has just transferred over VND96 million donated by readers to three orphans in the central province of Quang Binh.
The family receives donation
Representatives of Dantri, authorities of Son Trach Commune and Quang Binh Province and director of the Fund for Quang Binh Children along with representative of Truong Thinh Corporation visited and gave VND96,700,000 (USD4,604) to the children on August 22.
Nguyen Van Thanh worked hard to support the five-member family after finding out that his wife had bone marrow cancer. However, he died in May from a stroke, leaving behind three children and an ill wife, who died a month later. Their oldest child is 13 years old and the youngest is 9. Their relatives are poor and can’t support all three children, remaining at school.
Truong Thinh Corporation proposes to help raise the children
Nguyen Van Hoan, the children's uncle, said, "After their story was published, many people called to give us encouragement and over VND50 million. Thanks to kind people, the children have new clothes for this school year. We want to send our gratitude to everyone who helped us."
A representative from the Truong Thinh Corporation proposed to support the children new clothes, school supplies as well as other necessities every month until they come of age.
