A six-month-old girl in Khanh Hoa Province is in need of help to treat multiple illnesses including congenital heart disease and pneumonia.
Chi breathes through ventilator
Nguyen Yen Chi, the third child of Banh Thi Linh Huong and Nguyen The Anh, was diagnosed with heart disease when she was brought to hospital for her vaccinations at age three months.
Nguyen Ngoc Huy, vice head of the Pediatrics Faculty at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, said Chi was now suffering from pneumonia.
"Her condition is severe and she needs the ventilator for at least seven more days," Huy said.

Heart surgery cannot be performed until her pneumonia is brought under control.
Huong said the treatment was costly and required many expensive medicines not covered by health insurance.
Chi's father is a soldier serving on the Truong Sa (Spratly Islands) and has yet to learn of his daughter's illness.
