A 5-year-old girl in Ha Tinh Province is in desperate need of financial help to treat myeloma and brain tumour and to realise her wish to go to school.
Tran Thi Quynh Anh is the eldest daughter of Tran Dac Tien and Dang Thi Thuong in Can Loc District.
Quynh Anh wishes to go to school
Tien and Thuong are both from disadvantaged background. Despite the difficulties, they got married and hoped for a happy family. They were happy when Quynh Anh was born. However, when Quynh Anh was two years old, she had high fever and nausea.
"Doctors said she had myeloma and brain tumour. It shocked me to the core," Thuong, Quynh Anh's mother said.
Because of chemotherapy and radioactive sessions, Quynh Anh lost her hair and weight. When being asked about what she wants, she cried and said, "I want to have hair and go to school with friends." Whenever she is not tormented by pain, Quynh Anh takes out the books to learn how to write with her father's help.
"When she is in good health, she often asked us to let her go to school with the neighbours' kids. I had to lie to her that today is Sunday. But she found out my lie and cried whenever I refused her request," Thuong said.

Thuong said some nights, Quynh Anh would be woken up by the pain. "We could do nothing but hold her. I hope I could bear this pain for her," she said.
Quynh Anh's parents do not have cultivated fields, Thuong is unemployed and has to stay home to take care for Quynh Anh and her little brother. Tien is a secondary school teacher with small salary. They have had to borrow VND100m from the bank and over VND100m from the black market.
Phan Huu Danh, Tien's co-worker said, "Tien's family is deep in debt while Quynh Anh's illnesses is getting worse. The school can only help him so much and hopes that kind people in the community will extend help to Tien's family."
