Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper has set an ambitious target of constructing 200 houses for disadvantaged families within the two-year period of 2024-2025, calling on readers, philanthropists, and businesses to join hands in supporting disadvantaged families in stabilising their lives and achieving sustainable poverty alleviation.

Previously, in response to the government's campaign to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses, Dantri set a goal to build 100 homes for disadvantaged families from 2024 to 2025, providing shelter for impoverished and near-poor households and those facing difficult circumstances nationwide.

However, in less than 12 months since the launch, the project has surpassed its original target, reaching completion ahead of schedule. From April 2024 to date, Dantri has implemented the construction of 102 houses for disadvantaged families, of which 75 have been put into use.

These encouraging results have been made possible by the strong support of readers, philanthropists across the country, organisations, businesses, and local authorities.

Through on-site surveys, discussions, and assessments in various localities, we have observed that many families continue to struggle with hardship. Despite their efforts to improve their circumstances, poverty, illness, and misfortune persistently hinder their progress, leaving them trapped in substandard, makeshift housing with no way out.

For this reason, Dantri is launching the next phase of the initiative. The new objective for this year is to construct an additional 100 houses for disadvantaged families nationwide, enabling 100 struggling families to secure stable housing and focus on economic development to transform their lives.

With this expansion, Dantri's overall target for 2024-2025 is to build 200 houses for disadvantaged families, offering shelter to impoverished and near-poor families across the country.

Each family will receive minimum financial aid of VND60 million from contributions made.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Nguyen Thi Ha, and Editor-in-Chief of Dantri Newspaper, Pham Tuan Anh, local authorities hand over 10 houses for disadvantaged people in Tuyen Quang Province.

These houses for disadvantaged families are designed to meet the standards of sturdy foundation, solid frame and walls, durable roof, replacing makeshift and deteriorating shelters. They provide safer living conditions for residents during storm seasons and serve as a stepping stone for struggling families to regain stability and work towards sustainable poverty reduction.

Dantri calls upon readers, philanthropists, organisations, businesses, and local governments to unite nationwide to build houses for disadvantaged families to achieve this goal.

Dantri firmly believes that with compassionate readers' support, big or small, every contribution carries immense hope, faith, and love. This initiative motivates disadvantaged individuals to keep striving forward, spreading the spirit of kindness among the Vietnamese people and contributing to the development of a more prosperous and caring society.
