Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, 19, who was waiting for a new future at university, is in need of help to treat her Wilson's disease.

Yen's mother, Dang Thi Tuyet Hue, said, "The illness came so fast. Doctors said due to stress and lack of nutrition during the exam, the illness manifested quickly. Just one month later, her whole body was paralysed."
Yen's mother said before Yen was diagnosed her daughter felt very tired, with severe headaches.
At that time, Yen was waiting for the results of her university entrance exam and Hue though that studying and doing exams had worn her out.
When the pain became too much, her family brought her to hospital. Yen was diagnosed with Wilson's disease, a relatively rare genetic condition, with one in 100 people carrying the gene.
Yen became thin, her limbs curved up uncontrollably. Her parents have to massage Yen's muscle before they can set her limbs straight.
"The sound of rain often starts her convulsions," Yen's mother said.

Yen's mind is still very alert. She understands everything around her but cannot speak. She communicates using an alphabet board.
Doctors believe they can manage the disease, but Yen's parents cannot afford the hospital care.
"Her father has mild mental illness and can't work at all. I work as househelper for VND4m per month. We have already borrowed tens of millions so no one wants to give us loans," Hue said.
Dinh Van Liem, head of Hamlet 2, said the communal authorities recognised Yen as disabled to give her family monthly allowances. The Women Union and other organisations helps, but it is not enough.
