USD360-million resort project in Hue to be resumed

Work on a USD360-million resort project in Hue City in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue will resume.

Licensed in 2015, the 102-hectare Minh Vien Lang Co resort project in the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone, Phu Loc District, Hue City, was launched in 2018. It was designed to include hotels, a convention centre, and support services that meet international 5-star standards.

According to the initial plan, the project's first phase would be operational by the end of 2019, and the entire project would become operational in 2024.

However, the project investor, Minh Vien International Joint Stock Company, suspended the project in 2020 due to its impact on COVID-19.

Recently, the investor announced that it is working closely with Hue City's authorities to resolve project-related difficulties.

The investor has committed to restructuring and reallocating capital for the project by the end of March.

Around 40 percent of the project's first phase has been completed.
