Petrol prices rise following two consecutive falls

The retail prices of petrol and oil suddenly increased on Thursday after two consecutive falls following an adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

With the latest adjustment, the price of biofuel E5 RON92 increased by VND500 per litre to VND19,840 per litre, while RON95 up by VND330 per litre to VND20,850 per litre.

Diesel prices rose slightly by VND270 per litre to VND18,770 per litre, kerosene up by VND220 per litre to VND19,140 per litre, while mazut prices up by VND110 per kilo to VND16,120 per kilo.

The two ministries decided not to use the petrol price stabilisation fund this time.

Petrol prices have increased again after two consecutive falls. Since early this year, petrol prices have increased 22 times and decreased 25 times.

Globally, the oil market in the past week was influenced by factors such as the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, an increase in US oil reserves, OPEC+’s ongoing discussions to delay plans for increasing oil production, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

These factors caused fluctuations in global oil prices, with some products experiencing price increases.
