This breakthrough is set to revolutionize diagnostics, enabling early disease detection and significantly optimizing treatment outcomes for a wide range of critical conditions.
Tam Anh General Hospital in Hanoi has officially introduced Siemens Healthineers’ Somatom Force CT scanner, making it the first and only hospital in Vietnam to own this advanced system. At the launch event, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hien, a Distinguished Physician and Director of the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology at Tam Anh General Hospital Hanoi, stated that CT technology has seen continuous advancements over the years and has now reached a new pinnacle with the Somatom Force VB30. This cutting-edge system can reconstruct more than 100,000 slices in a single scan.
Currently, this high-end CT scanner is available only in a select few top-tier medical centers worldwide, including those in the US, Germany, and the Netherlands. Its early adoption in Vietnam provides doctors with a powerful tool to improve disease screening and diagnosis while also enhancing the country's appeal as a destination for medical tourism.

Leading medical experts cut the ribbon at the launch ceremony of the Somatom Force VB30 CT scanner
Fabian Martin Singer, Country Head of Vietnam at Siemens Healthineers Vietnam, highlighted that with its unmatched scanning speed and exceptional image quality, the Somatom Force VB30 enables doctors to make faster and more accurate diagnoses. This, in turn, helps optimize treatment plans and improve patient outcomes.
By becoming the first and only medical facility in Vietnam to deploy the AI-integrated Somatom Force VB30, Tam Anh General Hospital has taken a significant step forward in advancing diagnostic imaging in the country. As one of the most powerful AI-driven CT systems available today, it can automatically identify and analyze anatomical landmarks, adjust imaging parameters, and select the clearest, most relevant images, thus allowing doctors to diagnose conditions more quickly and accurately.
Equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic imaging technologies, this CT scanner supports a wide range of medical specialties, including neurology, head and neck imaging, thoracic and cardiovascular diagnostics, abdominal assessments, musculoskeletal evaluations, nephrology, urology, and orthopedic trauma.

The Somatom Force VB30 is the fastest CT scanner in the world, capable of performing a full-body scan in under two seconds, dozens of times faster than conventional CT models.
According to Distinguished Physician, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Uoc, Head of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Tam Anh General Hospital Hanoi, its high-speed scanning capability allows for detailed imaging of coronary arteries, regardless of heart rate, even in cases exceeding 100 bpm. Additionally, its 4D dynamic CT imaging feature provides real-time visualization of blood flow within the vessels, mapping areas of myocardial ischemia and distinguishing between healthy and damaged heart muscle tissue.
Furthermore, the Somatom Force VB30 boasts the thinnest slice thickness among all CT systems currently available. It can detect minute abnormalities as small as a few millimeters, making it highly effective in the early detection of cancer, lymph node tumors, inflammatory masses, stones, and organ abnormalities, particularly in the brain and heart.
The launch of the Somatom Force VB30 is part of a broad array of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Germany (1975-2025). Simon Kreye, German Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam, hailed this development as a testament to the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations, particularly in the fields of technology and healthcare.
Kreye emphasized that with the close collaboration between Vietnam’s leading hospitals and Germany’s top medical technology firms, Vietnam’s healthcare sector will continue to advance toward even higher standards of excellence in the time ahead.
