Construction on 14 expressway projects in Vietnam is scheduled to be started in 2024.
Among those, the Dau Giay-Tan Phu, Cho Moi-Bac Kan and Lo Te-Rach Soi expressways will be invested in by the Ministry of Transport.
The 60-kilometre Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway project in the southern province of Dong Nai will help link the current HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Highway.
The 28.8 kilometres Cho Moi-Bac Kan project in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan will cost VND5.75 trillion (USD237.61 million).
The investment capital for the Cao Lanh-Lo Te project in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho is VND750 billion.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport will cooperate with localities to finish procedures for 11 other expressway projects next year. These projects consist of Dong Dang-Tra Linh, Lang Son-Huu Nghi Border Gate, Tan Phu-Bao Loc, Bao Loc-Lien Khuong, Ninh Binh-Haiphong, Gia Nghia-Chon Thanh, HCM City-Moc Bai, Hoa Binh-Moc Chau and HCM City Belt Road 4.
The Ministry of Transport will also speed up investment preparations for key railway routes such as the HCM City-Can Tho, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau, Long Thanh-Thu Thiem and Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong lines.
Two sections of Dien Chau-Bai Vot and Cam Lam Vinh Hao of the eastern North-South Expressway are also slated to be put into operation in 2024.
