Woman narrowly escapes Phu Tho bedroom snake attack

A woman in Phu Tho Province narrowly avoided being bitten when a snake slithered into her bedroom and lunged at her, according to footage that has gone viral on social media.

The video shows the woman lying on her bed before she turns around and spots a snake slithering nearby. As she sat up in shock, the snake suddenly struck, but she managed to dodge in time.

Tran Van Tuan, the homeowner in Minh Dai Commune, confirmed that the incident occurred at 1.20 pm on September 24. He said a bedroom camera captured the footage as he and his wife prepared for a nap.

“My wife jumped up, and the snake still tried to attack her. Luckily, she reacted quickly,” Tuan told Dantri/Dtinews. He later caught the snake, identified as a non-venomous rat snake more than one metre long, and released it back into the wild.

Tuan added that hills and trees surround his house, but this was the first time a snake had entered their home. He advised families in wooded areas to take precautions against reptiles.

In April, a family in Quang Nam Province discovered seven snakes nesting inside their bedroom air conditioner. Experts note that during hot weather, the drainage pipes of air conditioners can attract snakes seeking cool, dark shelter.
