Wild monkey disturbs Quang Tri residential area

A wild monkey has entered a residential area in Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province, disturbing residents.

The monkey was found in the area bordering Nam Hieu Village of Cam Hieu Commune and Cam Lo Town.

Tran Thanh Hoai, vice chairman of the Cam Hieu People's Committee, stated that the animal, weighing around 10 kilogrammes, has damaged crops, fruit and properties. It also poses a potential threat to the locals, particularly children.

According to local authorities' initial assessment, this monkey is listed as an endangered and rare species in Group IIB.

Local authorities are conducting measures to drive the monkey away while trying to ensure its safety.
