Wild boars found dead in Nghe An national park

At least 21 wild boars have been discovered dead at a national park in the central province of Nghe An.

According to Le Anh Tuan, director of the Pu Mat National Park management board, the wild boars were found dead during forest patrols carried out by the board’s staff in November.

The dead boars were primarily concentrated in the forest areas of Chau Khe Commune in Con Cuong District and Tam Quang Commune in Tuong Duong District.

The animals were found scattered along the streams, with no signs of being impacted by illegal hunting.

Tuan said this is the first time such many dead wild boars have been seen in the area. The management board suspects that an outbreak of disease may have caused the deaths.

“We have informed concerned agencies to collect samples from the dead wild boars for testing,” Tuan added.
