Many areas in Dai Loc, Dien Ban, and An Thang are struggling with severe piles of uncollected household waste, which emit a pungent stench and are causing growing concern among residents.
The problem stems from the closure of a waste plant in Dai Loc Commune, which was found to be burying waste illegally.

A resident of Dien Ban Ward reported that the situation has persisted for over ten days, causing a severe impact on the local environment. “Almost every street in the ward is covered with rubbish,” he added.
“The amount of rubbish produced each day is huge, but it hasn’t been collected. The smell is unbearable. We urge the authorities to step in and clear the waste as soon as possible to protect the environment and restore the city’s appearance,” he noted.
The same situation is reported in Dai Loc Commune. “When it rains and the sun comes out, the flies swarm and the smell is awful, it’s really polluting,” a local person complained.
According to a representative of Quang Nam Urban Environment JSC, the company responsible for waste collection, rubbish has not been collected in recent days due to the lack of a disposal site.

The firm typically collects around 50 truckloads, equivalent to approximately 60 tonnes of waste, daily from Dai Loc, Ha Nha, Dien Ban, and nearby areas. It is now working with local authorities to find a temporary site while awaiting the resumption of treatment plant operations.
Earlier, on September 25, the Danang police found that Huy Hoang Eco JSC’s household waste treatment plant had been illegally dumping and burying waste in Dai Loc.
Initial investigations found that since 2024, the company has unlawfully disposed of an estimated 20,000 tonnes of waste, in violation of environmental protection regulations.
The Bac Quang Nam Household Waste Treatment Plant, operated by Huy Hoang Eco JSC, is responsible for receiving and processing domestic waste from Duy Xuyen and Dai Loc, as well as Dien Ban Town, areas that formerly belonged to Quang Nam Province and are now part of 15 wards and communes under Danang.
