The first project is upgrading and expanding a 3.5-kilometre section of Belt Road 2 running from Nga Tu So Intersection and Cau Giay District. The VND8.5-trillion project is aimed at reducing traffic congestion at the So Intersection.

The second project is the construction of a 14-kilometre section of Belt Road 3 with an investment of VND12.04 trillion.

Meanwhile, VND850 billion has been recommended for building the expanded Hoang Quoc Viet Road linking Pham Van Dong and Hoang Quoc Viet streets. The project will help to mitigate traffic congestion for Mai Dich and Road 32.

The 65-km Belt Road 3 runs through nine districts in Hanoi and links the capital city to all expressways and other regions; while Belt Road 2 spans eight Hanoi districts.

By 2030, Hanoi will aim to complete seven belt roads linking the city and neighbouring localities as well as its centre and satellite urban areas.
