Vu Xuan Trung, a 12th grader from the northern province of Thai Binh, won the gold at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2016 (IMO 2016) in Hong Kong.
This is the second medal gold Trung at the contest after the one in Thailand last year.

Vietnamese students take part in the contest
The other five students from Binh Dinh Province, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Dinh and Thanh Hoa provinces won four silvers and a bronze at the contest.
At the contest, the Vietnamese team stood at the 11th against the 5th position last year. The US team ranked first with six golds, followed by Singapore with four golds.
IMO 2016 took place in Hong Hong on July 6-16 with the participation of 602 students from 109 countries and territories.
