Vietnam tops global list of international university campuses

Vietnam has taken the lead on a global list of countries hosting international university campuses.

The report has been published by the Observatory on Borderless Higher Education, an organization functioning as an information channel among universities around the world.

With more than 6,000 students, RMIT International University Vietnam heads the global list of the top 15 international branch campuses in terms of student numbers.

The latest 2012 report marked a strong shift to the Asian region, as universities worldwide are establishing and expanding campuses in locations far from their original sites.

Professor Merilyn Liddell, RMIT Vietnam Rector, said that it’s great to see her university’s success in attracting students recognised in such a prestigious international publication.

Liddell also pointed out that RMIT Vietnam’s tuition fees, while relatively high by Vietnamese standards, are lower in comparison to other international universities in the world.

Australia’s Monash University and the UK’s Nottingham University also stand in the top five, for their campuses in Malaysia and China, respectively, while AMA International University in Bahrain (established by a Filipino company) ranks fourth.
