The Politburo has approved the decision, aimed at enabling the public to celebrate the country’s Independence Festival. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh instructed the State Bank of Vietnam and commercial banks to ensure smooth payment systems, cash supply and timely distribution so that no one is missed or counted twice.
News of the decision quickly drew public attention. Many people expressed surprise and anticipation over what they described as a “special gift”.
Bui Huong Lan, a resident of Vinh Yen Ward in Phu Tho Province, said, “This is the first time I will receive such a gift from the state. Although the amount is not large, it shows care and encouragement for each citizen. I find it meaningful and look forward to it.”
Similarly, in An Khanh Commune, Hanoi, Thuy Duong said she and many colleagues welcomed the decision, describing it as a thoughtful gesture accompanying the nationwide commemorations.
She noted that the gift would add to the joy of families gathering to celebrate the country’s 80th National Day. Duong also hoped the money would be delivered promptly, either via bank transfer or in person, before September 2.
