Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang made that statement on September 5, adding that Viet Nam strongly protests China’s action and strictly demands the country respect Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa Archipelago, not repeat the similar action, and not affect peace and stability in the region and the East Sea.
Vietnam once again asserts its resolution to protect its sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests in the East Sea through peaceful measures in line with international law, including the United Nations Charter and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982, she affirmed.
