Vietnam confirms three new imported Covid-19 patients, total rises to 1,210

According to the ministry's report, the two new Vietnamese male patients aged 29 and 32 returned from Japan at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province on November 3.

They were sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and are now being treated at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The Indian male expert aged 38 landed at the Cam Ranh Airport from India from October 22. He is also being treated at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 519.

As of 6 pm on November 5, a total of 1,069 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

The country has gone 64 days without reporting any new case in the community.

At present, over 14,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.
