Vietnam has logged 40 more domestically-transmitted Covid-19 cases in the past 12 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on Friday morning.

Vietnam has logged 40 more domestically-transmitted Covid-19 cases in the past 12 hours, the Ministry of Health reported on Friday morning.

Of the new cases, 30 were recorded in Bac Giang Province, eight in Lang Son Province, one in Thai Binh Province and one from Long An Province who is related to the Revival Ekklesia Mission - a Christian church in HCM City’s Go Vap District.

The patients from Bac Giang, Thai Binh and Long An have been all quarantined. Meanwhile, those from Lang Son have been found through a screening test in the community.

By 6 am on Friday, Vietnam had recorded a total of 6,356 Covid-19 patients, including 46 deaths. Since April 27, the country has seen 3,294 cases.

Until now, 2,853 patients have been discharged from hospital for full recovery.

By late Thursday, 28,529 people in Vietnam were provided with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
