Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu led a Vietnamese delegation to the 43rd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting (AEM-43) and related meetings in Indonesia from August 9-13.
This is the most important annual event for ASEAN Economic Ministers in 2011 as they prepare for the 19th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in November.
At the meeting, ministers reviewed the outcomes of measures for boosting the association’s economic integration towards forming an ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.
They will also hold consultative meetings with their counterparts from China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, and the US to discuss ways to improve collaboration in economics, trade and investment between countries.
