The Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Centre forecast scattered showers and thunderstorms across HCM City and southern Vietnam on October 5, with heavy rain in some areas.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 24-27 degrees Celsius at night to highs of 31-34 degrees.

Widespread thunderstorms affected many parts of southern Vietnam on October 4, bringing rainfall of 10-80 mm and more than 80 mm in some areas.
Forecasters said a strengthening intertropical convergence zone across southern Vietnam was increasing rainfall and thunderstorms, with heavy rain expected through October 10 and potentially starting early on some days.
Intense rain could flood low-lying and urban areas, while thunderstorms may bring whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts. Residents were advised to limit travel and avoid sheltering under trees or near vulnerable structures.
