Vietnam anticipates its 90 millionth citizen

The General Office for Population Family Planning expects Vietnam will grow beyond 90 million citizens on November 1.

The General Office for Population Family Planning expects Vietnam will grow beyond 90 million citizens on November 1.

Statistical trends and an arbitrary decision process conducted by the General Department across the country mean the 90 millionth citizen is a female infant due to be born at midnight on November 1 at Hanoi’s Central Obstetrics Hospital.

The Central Obstetrics Hospital will host a commemorative ceremony involving Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan and Health Ministry representatives.

Earlier predictions estimated Vietnam’s population would hit 90 million by mid-October 2013.
