US to provide three million doses of Moderna vaccine to Vietnam

The news was announced on July 16 by the representative of the US Embassy in Hanoi. The US also gave two million doses of vaccine to Vietnam via Covax Facility.

Nguyen Minh Hang, Director of Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department, said after two months of searching and negotiating, they had secured eight million doses of vaccines. In the coming time, more vaccines will arrive in Vietnam.

Moderna Vaccine use mRNA technology and was approved by the World Health Organisation on April 30. Moderna says the vaccine is 90% effective against Covid-19 after six months. It is also effective against the Delta variant.
