Tourist rescued after cramp while swimming at Cua Lo Beach

A rescue worker in Cua Lo Ward in the central province of Nghe An saved a male tourist who suffered a cramp while swimming in rough seas.

The incident occurred on March 8 when the tourist suddenly experienced a cramp and was unable to swim back to shore. Strong waves left the man struggling and calling for help.

Dang Van Tu, a staff member at the ward’s Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention Centre, immediately swam out to reach the victim.

After several minutes battling large waves, Tu managed to assist and guide the tourist safely back to shore.

Tran Tuan Anh, director of the centre, said Tu quickly responded after spotting the tourist in distress and helped bring him to safety despite the rough conditions.

The tourist recovered shortly after being brought ashore.

A video of the rescue later circulated on social media, drawing praise from viewers for the rescuer’s quick response and bravery.
