On December 10, Nguyen Van Thuyet of Tan Thanh Hamlet, Duc Dong Commune, detected two pythons weighing a total of 11 kilogrammes while working in his garden. He captured them and voluntarily handed them over to the local forestry unit.

Meanwhile, Tran Duc Minh of Tien Thanh Hamlet, Ky Khang Commune, discovered a large python in his backyard garden and confined it in a metal cage before alerting forest rangers, who confirmed it weighed 37 kilogrammes.
All three animals were transferred to Vu Quang National Park on December 11 for care and rehabilitation before being released back into the wild.
The Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is listed as a threatened species under Group IIB of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment’s regulations and is included in Vietnam’s Red Data Book. The species is strictly protected, with all exploitation and use prohibited.
