According to a report from Tan An Ward Police, the tragic accident occurred at 2 am in a 20-square-metre room on Hoang Hoa Tham Street.
The firefighters had to destroy the roller door to access the room and brought the fire under control after 20 minutes. They later found the bodies of one woman, one girl and a man inside. The female victims were identified as Nguyen Thi Tuyet Van, 45 and Trinh Thi Khanh Huyen, 15, and the man Le Thanh Ty, 50.
The room was among 10 rooms built for rent by a local man, Nguyen Minh Hoang. Hoang said that the room was also used as a storage for clothes.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
